A day out at the Perth tennis final of the Hopman Cup, had me inspired! The sports luxe trend has been big for the past few seasons, a look pioneered by Alexander Wang, who is now exploring it further, with his role at Balenciaga.

No longer limited to the sports arena, the track pant has morphed into a symbol of easy elegance and carefree class. Fabrics are stretchy and breathable, while colours are Hi-Vis in shiny textures.

For this particular look I went for the textured top with slouchy track pants, keeping the palette monochrome. The shoes are the only burst of colour, with their neon tones paying homage to the fashion forward trainers by the big name sports brands.

CROPPED TOP | CUE

JACKET | ZARA

SHOES | CB MADE IN ITALY

This look is inspired by the colder months and the longer evenings of Winter, with these rich and darker colours. I love this burgundy hue in the crop top, from the made in Australia brand CUE, and its big black roses, outlined in white. I decided to pair it with my checkered jacket from ZARA and these black and white slip-ons from CB Made in Italy, for an over all Monochrome based look.

I have been purchasing a few crop tops lately and they are so chic when paired with high-waisted bottoms, shorts, skirts or trousers. The next piece I want to buy is a pair of wide leg trousers for a 70’s-esque look. There is nothing sexier right now than having that little sliver of skin peeking out from where your crop top and trousers/skirt unite in fashionable glory!
