A Sunny September Afternoon

Here in Rome the summer seems to be clinging on, with only a light chill of a winter breeze blowing in the evening. I am taking advantage of the warmer weather by wearing one of my favourite CUE dresses from Australia. I love this dress as it is so light and yet still has the structure that I love. The colour is a blue/purple and I have paired it with my pony hair leopard belt, to add a bit of fun. My flats are a Primark buy, from when I was last in Ireland. A bargain and on trend with the pointed toes. I am definitly overwearing them though, as the small stones of Rome’s streets don’t take well to a heels ! I want to invest in a similar pair, any suggestions?

That’s all for now,
Love Dani xx

Aztec Sunset

Here is an outfit post from Christmas day. After a BIG dinner with Lorenzo’s family, for my first Christmas away from home, we stopped off at Kings Park to watch the sunset. One of my favourite places in Perth, it gives such a beautiful view of an ever expanding city.
Here I am wearing a colourful Aztec print dress I picked up for 16 dollars on sale. It was perfect for the hot weather and comfortable too. I paired it with an old feather necklace from H&M, a tan belt from one of my CUE dresses and woven gold clutch Lorenzo gave me as a gift last summer. My Primark red wedges have made an appearance again. I love these babies, I always get compliments on them and oohs at their staggering height. They have a good thick heel so I feel secure in them.

 Let me know your comments,
Love xx

Arrivederci Roma

Well after a long absence I am making a quick post and an even quicker update on whats been going on! I moved to Perth two weeks ago (yes, Perth AUSTRALIA) and I have been so busy between packing before getting here and now trying to find a job and new digs.
Here are some photos in the meantime until I get more settled and get back to regular posting. These were taken on my last day in Rome. It was so hot, in the high 30s, so I was still running round in my short shorts. I recently picked up this new nail colour from Kiko, its a blue/purple colour and I was so excited to discover it matched my shorts exactly. There must of been some sub-concious fashion voices telling me I needed it !
The t-shirt was given to me by my super cool rock and roll aunt when I was in L.A. last year. She always has the best t-shirts and this one is no exception. It says ‘This guitar has seconds to live” and I love its distressed, vintage look!
Once again my leopard bag and shoes are making an appearance. The shoes are H&M and the satchel is Primark. Love leopard print obviously but I must admit this seasons trend for snake print may have me changing my mind…..
Thats all for now but stay tuned for a Perth update soon 🙂
Ciao for now xx

Eastern European Dreams

Here are some snaps from my recent trip to Croatia. I was staying on the island of Korcula with my boyfriend and his family for the celebration of a relative’s wedding. It was such a beautiful place. I was surprised by the amount of historic architecture. I loved the narrow streets and cobble stone everywhere. I would definitely put it on your list of places to see.

It was really warm and as is typical with sun holidays my wardrobe consisted of all that is comfortable. I wore coloured jean shorts, easy t-shirts paired with some tribal print espridilles (another primark bargain). I also pulled out a white straw hat I got about 4 years ago from River Island.Forgot I had it, I love when that happens!

At night my grey cardi came in hand as it was a bit chilly. My favourite look of the trip was the dress I wore for the wedding. An orange, grecian, one shoulder, full length, pleated number from Primark. I am even more happy with the price I got it for …€17 !!! As for accessories I took my que from the gold belt that came with the dress and added gold shoes and gold flowers in my hair (cleverly put together by my grandmother’s creative sowing skills), along with a basket weave gold clutch from accessorize.

While in Croatia I couldn’t help myself wandering into the quaint jewelry shops. My boyfriend bought me a little bauble I had my eye which will soon feature on the blog so stay tuned for that! There was a lot of coral style jewelry as the Croatians believe it brings good luck.
Enjoy the pictures xx

The Tourist

Max Mara Spring 2011

Max Mara Spring 2011

Max Mara Spring 2011

I love to travel. I love to visit new countries and be a tourist. But sometimes I don’t take advantage of being a tourist in my own country. However, today on a trip to Dublin I did more than just raid the shops on Grafton street. Taking a more cultural approach I visited the home of one of Ireland’s best exports. No not U2 ! The Guinness storehouse factory.

I was pleasantly surprised by the architecture of the building, with the centre resembling a Guinness glass. It was really modern and the layout of the buliding showed all the old machines for brewing the Guinness. The best part was the top level of the building, which had a bar with a full view of Dublin.

Today was scarily cold, even for Ireland, however, I was a bit more fashion than function in my wardrobe choice. I wore my new pink blazer from primark, which I love love. It reminds me of the bright colours used by Max Mara in their Spring summer collection. I paired it with my sisters Denim shirt, her grey jeans, my pink ballet flats and trusty leopard bag.

I am currently borrowing all of my sisters clothes (not that I didn’t before, its just now I have a good excuse) because I have left all my clothes in Rome as I will be going back there in August. I have to admit its fun having new clothes to work with !

I really enjoyed today and it’s reminded me of how beautiful Ireland is. I have a travelling bug so I think I am destined to roam this earth forever, however Ireland will always have a special place in my heart.

Summer Lovin: Neon Brights

Neon Leopard Bikini Billabong

Finally Summer is here and it’s my favourite time of year. This weekend I escaped the opressive heat of Rome in favour of sun, sand and sea. Unfortunately being Irish my pasty skin tends to burn quickly. I am a little burned to say the least but fingers crossed it will turn into golden brown soon.
I love being tan as it gives me an opportunity to wear my neons ! Not just for raves people, neon can be worn with out looking like a traffic cone, trust me. It is important though to try and pick  just one piece.
This weekend I opted for my favourite neon, pink, leopard print bikini from Billabong. I have had this one for two years now and it is still my first choice for beach lounging.

Neon orange t-shirt – Primark, Denim shorts – Topshop, Leopard bangles – H&M, Gold beaded necklace- Accessorize

And it seems its not just me who is crazy for the bright stuff, British fashion genius Christopher Kane considers neon one of his brand’s staples as his first ever collection was filled with neon bandeau dresses. This season on my wish list are Prada’s striped, canvas, clutch bags in pink and orange and a pair of flashy neon Miu Miu sandals.
