After a long break away from the blogging sphere, I am back with my first post of 2015, from Perth, WA. Various factors have lead to us being back in the West, but so far so good! I am back working for my favourite Australian brand CUE, so you can look forward to some CUE looks in the upcoming outfit posts.

This look was shot on a visit to Penguin Island, a beautiful backdrop that shows just a little of what WA has to offer. I am looking forward to our new future here, but I am still missing the people and adventures that we had in the wonderful Cairns.

“Come on Barbie, let’s go party!…..Ah-ah-ah-yeah!” That is how I feel in this feminine pink and fluffy, Barbie inspired look. A symbol of my childhood and my first attempts at styling, Barbie tends to creep in when I am channeling an all girly vibe. The only girl who can pull off pink on pink, I think she would approve of this look!

I don’t own many skirts and the ones I do own are straight or a-line. It took me a while to broach the flippy skirt and I finally caved when I saw this one on sale at ZARA. Not having to invest too much into the trend, I thought I would give it ago. I’ll admit the colour sold me on it, however I had planned on pairing it with a tougher fabric like leather or even adding a masculine shirt to avoid it looking too girly . Well as you can see I did a complete u-turn and paired it with the girliest white fluffy top possible! As I said, Barbie was the inspiration, as it was for Jeremy Scott at Moschino Spring 2015 show.

I think the appeal of Barbie is not just her effortless femininity, unachievable figure or can do attitude, but the fun factor of the clothing. I always had so much fun dressing up my favourite Barbie and there was never a question of being overdressed. So I guess that’s why this outfit appeals to me too. It is fun and flirty and it makes me a feel just a little bit more sparkly!

You know you have a problem (or not) when your whole outfit is by ZARA. I had to stock up before I left Rome and made the big move to Australia, since they don’t have ZARA here in Cairns and they don’t do online shopping yet. I had to grab this pink biker jacker and metallic cropped top as my farewell purchases. The trousers are from Summer 2013 as are the shoes, but still ZARA. You may remember the jacket from one of my previous posts.

I may have to take a trip to one of the bigger cities just to get my fix. However I am working part-time for the Australian Fashion Brand CUE, which has some amazing pieces to keep my cravings at bay. I will post a look in the future with one of their dresses that I just purchased. It was love at first sight!

Outfit Post: Pink Track pants and white shirt

I came to love the track pant last Summer and what I thought was to be but a brief affair, a cheap Summer fling, has turned out to be a reliable staple, making fast friends with the basics in my closet. Surprisingly flattering (although always better with a heel, unless you’re of the Gisele, Miranda or Karlie variety) and undeniably comfortable, they are my go to trouser for Summer 2014.
I picked up this pair in ZARA (see link above), opting for an on trend sugary hue with  zip detailing. I have paired them with this basic white shirt, that is a cropped boxy version of the crisp classic.
I ended up wearing the look from day to night, and it translated very well to evening, with a cropped leather jacket to fight the evening chill.
What are you’re thoughts on the track pant?

Happy Valentine’s day all!
Whether your into it or not, its difficult to avoid. I don’t really celebrate it, but I am never one to miss the opportunity for dressing up. I think this pink coat from OASAP is very fitting for the occasion at hand. I got it a couple of months back and I had wanted one for so long, not just because it was on trend, but because it was feminine and added pop of colour to outfits, especially in these grey, rainy Spring days.
It is just a quick post from me today, to show you this look so let me know what you think?
Enjoy your Valentine’s Day plans and whatever they maybe, make sure you dress to impress!
